Washington Duck hunting at it's Best!

November 10, 2009 Update !!!

The Northerns are running a little tardy!! Duck shooting was a little sreaky this last week. A combination of pounding on the local Ducks and a full moon cycle made for a lot of tough, two a day hunts. Things are looking up we had a very busy weekend (Lot's of Hunters) we pounded the Ducks on Friday, Saturday and Monday. Although Sunday was a little off.

Goose shooting remains fabulous!! We've got a lot more Geese than we do Goose shooters to defend all of our fields. Average hunt
time is about a hour and a half for limits.

October 2009 News Flash - Season off to a Killer Start!

The 2009 season is off with a bang. Over 1,000 mallards harvested in the
first 4 days. Duck hunting couldn't be any better!!!! 1,000's of local
mallard's are already calling our habitat projects home. Goose shooting
is also fabulous, killed 24 geese in 25 minutes in one of our hunts this morning.

At Eagle Lakes Ranch, limit shooting is the rule, not the exception. With over 100 lakes and ponds in several counties, there will always be a "honey hole" available for you. Whether you enjoy the classic duck hunting setup, mallards over decoys in a small secluded pothole, or prefer big water shooting, we have both.

Many of our ponds & lakes have warm water springs that never freeze. Our duck hunting is primarily done over water. We hunt out of floating blinds, rock blinds, stilt blinds, portable blinds and every other kind of blind imaginable. Washington State has one of the most liberal season and bag limits in the country, so you will be able to take home a bunch of these delicious corn fed mallards for family and friends to enjoy.

Eagle Lakes Ranch has been in the Bernsen family for over 50 years. We are continually upgrading our properties with new habitat projects designed specifically for the birds each year. Blinds are maintained and improved annually, ensuring your comfort and success.

Much of the Columbia Basin freezes in the latter part of our hunting season. With millions of gallons of fresh water flowing through our properties everyday, Eagle Lakes Ranch always has water open to hunt on.

The late season can be most productive, as the weather forces thousands of ducks to our warm water areas.
